Campaigns

In accordance with Tathapi’s belief in people’s right to health and information and its mission to promote the principles of equality, democracy and justice, we seek to make a contribution to improve women’s health and information by initiating and participating in campaigns that we believe will fullfill these goals.

Some of these campaigns have included -

  1. towards ‘Health for All’ through the Jan Arogya Abhiyan,
  2. ‘Right to Food campaign’,
  3. for ‘Quality Care in Sterilisation Camps for Women’,
  4. against the ‘2-child Norm’ in Maharashtra

We also actively participated (both, as part of Jan Arogya Abhiyan) in the

  1. allotment of beds for TB department at Sassoon Hospital
  2. against the handover of a Pune Municipal Corporation Hospital to a private medical trust in Pune

We have also conducted more short term period bound Campaigns as part of projects to

    • against child marriage in 9 villages of Latur and Osmanabad
    • on violence against women in 9 villages of Latur and Osmanabad
    • to women’s titles onto houses in rural areas as per the government directive in 12 villages under the project area of ‘Towards Equality: Working with Men’ (A pilot project to develop interventions to work with Men).
